love and bowties,

happy friday!
this outfit was actually inspired by a ladymag (women’s magazine that is saturated with femininity, in this case InStyle). they did a small spread called “girl meets boy” and this combo was one of the outfits. their interpretation of course included masculine-apologist language and compensating with heels and lavish accessories, as if women & other female bodied folks need to apologize for desiring and wearing such items as vests, blazers, grandpa cardigans, and neckties (all of which have been featured on this blog, FYI).
however, i appreciated the inspiration and put together this:
the real predicament now that i’ve put together some killer outfits this week, what do i wear next week?
this will be a new favorite outfit; i can feel it.
i can see myself wearing this to work (like today), to play (out for lunch with some friends), or on a date (something classy, like wine and chocolate).
this outfit is so simple:
also of note- i got a fancy new haircut! had it done here and i highly recommend for those in the NYC area looking to get or improve short hair. i also took a cue from delisubthefemmecub and bought some lipstick. not sure how i feel about it yet- i think i need a less berry more pink color, but i will consult the folks at sephora for my next purchase.
basic outfit with a little something special!
wearing:
it’s probably blatantly apparent how much i love dapper looking menswear items- especially ties, bowties specifically, vests, and suspenders. suspenders tend to look a little costumey, but today, i am trying to wear them as sort of a stealthy extra spice to my outfit. this may only be the second or third time i’m wearing these out, but i really love them and hope to wear them more often!
do y’all have any suggestions of how to wear suspenders without looking completely silly?
outfit for the day- dapper office and meeting someone new from okcupid
wearing:
hoping that this outfit will give my day a little lift (still sick) and impress the person i am meeting tonight! wish me luck?
guess who just went on a major shopping spree with hir bff and got some really awesome stuff?
what i bought today, and from where:
look out for these new items in posts soon!
I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly.
*also my preferred pronouns are he/him/his. don’t misgender me in reblogs. I cannot possibly make this more convenient for y’all.
i love this boy’s blog. he is so fabulous. i am so into this dapper hair and lipstick combo, as well as the all-essential hand on hip at center.
highly recommend y’all check him out!
